Teacher training for Peace Classes

The association offers specific training for teachers who want to give « Peace Classes » in their schools.

You will attend a one-day initial training course and then several meetings during the school year, as well as a visit from an animator once a week in the classroom for the animation of the Peace Classes. These sessions allow you to acquire the necessary tools for the pedagogy of Peace Education, to understand the process of the « Peace Classes » and to set up activities. We provide you with educational tools developed by Global Education and Development absl in order to bring education towards a process of peaceful integration and social cohesion.

The aim of this training is to help the peaceful development of kindergarten and primary school children. The emphasis is on the interactive learning of universal human values put into practice in daily life, social and personal problem solving based on the experience of the pupils; conflict resolution; addressing various forms of injustice and violence; developing attitudes, knowledge and skills of active peacemakers. Pupils will develop peace both within and around them.

The training covers 3 axes:

  • Group dynamics and presentation of the « Peace Classes » project: commitment and empowerment in the development of the network and its work.
  • Practice and participation: putting animation tools into practice through micro-teaching.
  • Individual and group feedback: exchange of good practice and experience.

Throughout the course, you will be supported in your apprenticeship in order to evolve in your practices and to encourage you to carry on.

Are you interested in training to run Peace Classes in your school? Contact EGD asbl as soon as possible.

Training day on different educational topics

Depending on the request, we offer thematic days on subjects that concern you as a teacher. An example would be « positive attention ».

During these days, we will equip you in terms of methodology and pedagogy to improve your practices in order to bring education towards a process of peaceful integration and social cohesion.

If you are interested in these days, please contact EGD asbl and we will provide you with all the necessary information.

Personal and professional advice and support

Do you need advice or regular support to deal with problems encountered during your courses, to guide you on particular practices, to learn about positive pedagogy, cooperative learning and much more?

Do not hesitate to contact EGD asbl. During one or more appointments, we can discuss together the possibilities that can be brought to you.

Caring staff

Caring staff, you are also concerned!

Come and discover, during a training session, different tools that will allow you to observe children’s behaviour, to deal and resolve the different conflicts that children may encounter during playtime and at other occasions.

Learn how to become a peacemaker and mediator yourself to enable children to evolve in a peaceful environment.

Animator

The association organises training in specialised animation in education for cooperation and citizenship.

In addition to learning facilitation techniques, you will learn how to become facilitators who pay attention to cooperative learning and encourage citizenship.

This course combines theory and practice.

Initially, you follow theoretical modules, equipping you with animation techniques and the specific process of education for citizenship and cooperation.

In a second step, you will put your knowledge into practice by leading creative peace workshops with children aged 6 to 12.

Throughout your training, you will receive specific support to help you to develop continuously.

Finally, we look back on your entire learning experience, both theoretical and practical. Around a discussion, we also design and plan an appropriate action plan. You will then receive a certificate of successful completion of the training.

In practice:

This is a 300-hour training course, 150 hours of which are theoretical and 150 hours practical. Throughout a semester, the training is organised over 3 weeks or spread over several weekends.
